State Post-Convictions
Morye Chandler v. State,  No. PC-2007-1014 (Okl.Cr., April 15, 2008) (unpublished):  State Post-Conviction:  This is a nifty opinion in which a pro se litigant convinced the Court, by a 3-2 vote, that he was entitled to post-conviction relief on an 85% Rule issue.  It appears that OIDS had some lawyers in transition in his case and the issue was not raised until rehearing (and the Court declined to address it on rehearing).  Undeterred, Mr. Chandler pressed the issue before Judge Twyla Mason Gray and, when she denied relief, he pressed on to the Court of Criminal Appeals and won a re-sentencing.  He was originally convicted of Child Abuse and sentenced to 50 years.
