BRIAN ASPAN & SHANNON MCMURRAY

(Tulsa), tried a first degree murder case that ended in a Manslaughter I conviction and a 20 year sentence.   The case was well-publicized in Tulsa and involved a client who was charged with using his car to strike and kill another man with whom client had been fighting.  The incident happened near a bar and the victim apparently had a .19 BAC.  Defense was accident and client took the stand in his own defense.  Interesting twist is that the judge sua sponte instructed on Man. I over defense objection (defense wanted "all or nothing").  Any time you walk into the courtroom with a client facing life or LWOP and walk out with substantially less and a dynamite appellate issue, I'd call that a victory.
