JAYE MENDROS

(Oklahoma City), recently relocated to 204 N. Robinson, Suite 1125, 405.605.8639), scored a victory in Edmond municipal court in a Minor in Possession case.  Client was at an apartment where drinking was going on at UCO.  The city ordinance requires the drinking to be in a public place.  The city attorney argued that some other kids were drinking from the balcony in public view and thus there was enough evidence of "public" drinking to avoid dismissal.  Judge Synar was not impressed and dismissed because there was no evidence that client (and a co-defendant) were on the balcony and any drinking they did was inside the private apartment.  Jaye reports that Steve Langer of the Garrett Law Office represented the co-defendant in the same position as her client.  Sharp advocacy and solid judging here.
